This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, who it is shared with and how long it is kept. It covers veracruzalmonds.com only. The Better With brand has its own site and its own policy.
The data controller is Veracruz Industries, Unipessoal Lda., at Rua H, Lote M9, Zona Industrial, 6000-459 Castelo Branco, Portugal.
This site collects very little, and it is worth being specific about what.
When you write to us through the form, we receive what you typed: your name, email address and message, which are required, plus company, phone, country and subject, which are optional. The submission is not stored on this website. It is sent by email to our commercial team and nothing else happens on the server.
To stop the form being used to send bulk messages, we count how many submissions arrive from the same place within an hour. What we store is not your IP address: it is an irreversible code derived from it, which allows counting but not identification. That code is deleted after one hour.
If you accept in the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited. Your IP address is truncated before it reaches Google. If you decline, or simply do not answer, no analytics script is loaded and no cookie is written.
This site has no shop, takes no payments, creates no accounts and asks for no passwords. We do not build profiles, we make no automated decisions about you, and we neither sell nor share data with third parties for advertising. Typefaces are served from our own server, so simply visiting a page contacts no external domain.
We process your message in order to answer your enquiry, on the basis of pre-contractual steps and of our legitimate interest in responding to those who approach us. The abuse counter rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the form available. Usage statistics rest on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
We rely on two providers, both under a data processing agreement. Hostinger International Ltd., a European Union company, hosts the site. Microsoft provides the email service where your message lands. If you accepted statistics, Google receives browsing data. Beyond these, and the authorities where the law requires it, nobody.
Hosting and email stay within the European Union. If you accepted statistics, the data handled by Google may be transferred to the United States under the Data Privacy Framework and the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
The irreversible code derived from your IP address is deleted after one hour. Messages received through the form remain in the team mailbox for twenty-four months, unless they lead to a commercial relationship, in which case they follow the retention periods of that relationship. You may ask for deletion sooner.
You may ask us for access to your data, for its correction or for its deletion. You may ask us to restrict processing, object to it, and ask for your data in a format you can take elsewhere. You may withdraw consent for statistics at any time, without affecting what was done before. To exercise any of these rights, write to comunicacao@veracruzalmonds.com.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Portugal that is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, at cnpd.pt.
We keep your choice about statistics in your browser local storage, not in a cookie. The difference is practical: declining writes no cookie at all, and that preference is never sent to the server. If you clear your browser data, the notice appears again.
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. The email credentials sit outside the public area of the server, and the application that sends the messages is restricted to a single mailbox, so it cannot send on anyone else’s behalf. No measure removes all risk, and we do not claim otherwise.
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Changes that affect what we do with your data will be flagged on the page.
